ST. FERDINAND SCHOOL EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
6:30 Opened with a prayer.
Open Forum:

Pastor’s Report:
- One of the Board Members representing St. Martin de Porres submitted his resignation from the School Board. The pastor of St. Martin de Porres will be asked for a recommendation on filling this vacant position, as 2 positions on the board are reserved for St. Martin De Porres families.
Principal’s Report:
- Handout reviewed: Tuition Report
- Matching Gift Account – St. Ferdinand balance to date is $46,015. St. Martin De Porres balance to date is $13,910. (No update this month)
- Lindenwood University will have 50 computers ready for donation on Friday, February 13. The cost for phoenixnetowrks to set up licenses, registration, and install operating systems and necessary software will be $89 per computer. The plan is to pay for 10 installations, and for staff to be trained and to complete the remaining 40 computers. The matching gifts technology fund and possibly Home & School will provide financial assistance. Plans for the new computers: 30 in the Computer Lab, 1 in each of 10 homerooms, replace 10 of the worst remaining.
- Home & School approved an allocation of $3,000 to assist with the phoenixnetworks contract.
- Registration is going well, compared to last year.
- Discussed the placement of Open Enrollment signs on St. Ferdinand property.
Finance Committee:
- The budget was finalized and brought to the last Parish Finance meeting.
Policy Committee: None.
Public Relations / Marketing Committee: None.
Old Business:
- Observation Day proposal – The faculty thinks this is a good idea. The Family Handbook currently states that it is not the policy to allow parents to observe classes in session. This will be modified to allow for one Observation Day, which may be set up as an Open House.
- Automated phone system – The system was used for 2 snow days, and the contract allows for multiple additional calls before the end of the school year.
- Dismissal parking safety – Father Joe is coordinating a review of the dismissal procedure with the Police Department.
- Spell-a-thon incentive proposed change – proposals were reviewed, and will be submitted to the Spell-a-thon committee.
- Dress Code review (cold weather; team days) – policy was discussed; on team days, uniform shirts can be worn under team shirts, and uniform sweatshirts can be worn over team shirts. Students with P.E. at 7:45 a.m. normally wear shorts to school, but can wear pants on cold days.
New Business:
- Field Day – A suggestion was made to purchase “St. Ferdinand” water bottles for all participants.
- Scheduled School Board meeting dates: March 11, April 1, May 13.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 with a prayer by Father Jack.
Next regularly scheduled meeting: Wednesday, March 11 at 6:30 pm in the Teacher’s Lounge.
