Reading ** Writing ** RESPONSIBILITY
|
| |
Homework teaches responsibility. Through homework, children learn skills they must develop if they are to grow to be independent, motivated and successful adults: how to follow directions, how to begin and complete a task, and how to manage time. Encouraging a child to work on his or her own helps develop these important life skills.
Students must learn to accept responsibility for getting their schoolwork done--on time and appropriately. This means that they must learn to accept responsibility for writing down complete information about all assignments. They need to include when tests will be given and when long range asssignments are due. Keeping an accurate 'Student Planner' will help students be more successful in school.
