The Color of Art is Color

The Jamestown Mall exhibition was another huge success and as always, our students' art was the highlight of the show---as an unbiased casual observer told me in super secret confidentiality. We will be sending more art entries to the Olivette Art Show in April. Stay tuned...same Bat time, same Bat channel. Our focus during the dreary months of winter has been on color. From the kindergarten's sunflowers to the eighth grades monochromatic renderings in colored pencils we have tried to splash color everywhere. Sixth grader's are finishing their chalk pictures, Fourth grade -- feathers of a bird flock to our paper -- Seventh graders are putting on their raincoats in preparation for their watercolor painting -- and ritual masks from Africa, South America, and Mexico will be featured next month.
