October is here and we are looking forward to the start of second quarter. Our beatitudes for second quarter that we will focus on are sharing other's sorrow and thirsting for justice.

We are working very hard in all our subjects. We have started our new reading unit-"Investigations". In this unit we will study fantasy and reality writing. We will also delve into writing activities which will try to persuade the reader to agree with our opinion.

We are excited and looking forward to the Spell-a Thon. We have received our packet of information which contains our list of words. So let's get started!

In math we are continuing to work on place value. We are learning the place value of five and six digit numbers. This will help us for regrouping and subtracting numbers.

Our nest masses will be October 17th and November 14th.
