Welcome to 6I DECEMBER

December finds 6I preparing for Christmas. We have discussed and learned about the significance of Advent. Catholic Online has wonderful writings on the season of Advent that we have incorporated into our religious study. We have created Advent poetry and our classroom committees have decorated our bulletin board, our prayer table and even our door.

At this writing we have completed To Kill A Mockingbird. We were VERY in to it! Time flew when we were reading our novel. Our character cutouts are full of all the many personality traits and characteristics we have discovered along the way. Permission slips have gone home for our field trip to see the play. We are discussing what we think the characters should look like and we have certain expectations for their portrayal. It is exciting.

Science finds us studying the many different biomes. The Promethean website for our interactive board has a great flipchart lesson that not only gives us all the facts we need to know about particular biomes but also includes real video from each biome highlighting animals and vegetation home to that particular biome. We have found these very interesting and anticipate each new biome study.

Finally, I sincerely wish all families a prayerful and joyous Christmas! Enjoy your holiday break.
