We can't believe it's almost the end of first quarter. We've been so busy in fourth grade.
In math, we have almost completed Chapter 1 on numeration. We will then jump into addition and subtraction. (Please continue to practice those basic facts at home.)
We have been studying the gift of conscience in religion. We have explored different ways we can examine our conscience and the importance of calling on the Holy Spirit when we need help in making difficult decisions.
We have almost completed sentence structure in English, and we will begin chapter 2 on nouns next week. We are also working on a writing activity in English. The students made a list of nouns and adjectives related to Halloween. They are now writing a descriptive paragraph or story using some of the nouns and adjectives they listed. The students will be going to the computer lab this week to type their final copy.
We began a new chapter in science this week and the students will begin thinking about an animal that they would like to do a report on. Directions for the animal report will be sent home at the beginning of November.
Don't forget to read AR and study for the Spell-a-Thon next week.
4G signing off for now... God bless and take care.
