Hoodie-Hoo ...Hoodie-Hoo...Hoodie-Hoo.... What is "Hoodie-Hoo"? It is a custom, not in the United States of America. On this winter day, people go out at noon, wave their hands over their heads and shout "Hoodie-hoo", that when said at noon will chase away winter and bring in the spring. After all, everyone in the northern hemisphere are tired of winter and want the light days of spring to begin, soon.
This month the students are entering the Respect Life Creative Writing Contest. Winners will be awarded high school scholarship. The essays and poems are good. Here are a few parts from some of the creative pieces.
"Chastity blesses us with true happiness, health, and holiness. It gives us true happiness because it has us wait until we are fully and truly ready to make a life long commitment to ourselves and our future spouse."
"Abortion is wrong and God's commandment says 'Thou shall not kill'."
The students have begun the sessions with Father Post. The Retreat with the REAP Team was thought provoking and spiritual for the students. They were asked to think about their decisions and how it affects their lives and the lives of others. They thought it was great and beneficial.
