FRIENDS, DOCTORS, FAMILY, MEMORIES, FARMERS, MY BED, POLICE, MILITARY & ANIMALS
We are thankful for God's bounty which He created...WOW! Imagine!

Wow! What a title! Those are some of the things that the Great 8M is thankful for. The students are also thankful for prayer. They have come to realize the power of prayer. They are thankful that the Holy Trinity receives their requests and answers. They realize that the answer is not always what they want but it is God's will not their will. The students seem to have great trust and faith in God.

Some of the students have received a letter from the author that they wrote. The first quarter book project was a critiquing letter to the author.

One such reply was from author Shelley Adina. BlueBird, not the student's real name, read It's All About Us. Shelley wanted to know what Christian girls thought about stresses and other social occurances in their life. The author is writing a series about the temptations and stresses that Christian girls face but are handled differently because of their faith.

Dan Gutman, author of Shoeless Joe and Me, wrote to BaseHit, a pen name of this student. Dan explained more about the book and explained why he did not write more about teams. Dan Gutman thanked this student for writing to him.

The essays on Homelessness have been written. Only three will be selected for the competition at the St.Patrick's Center. Here are a few of the intense thoughts that the students have about being homeless: too many kids are homeless, many factors are causing homelessness, like foreclosures, job losses, and abuse, kids don't have a place of their own, and they don't have families to help them. The students came up with ideas that they could do such as: donate clothing, work in food bank, serve homeless food, hold a neighborhood festival to earn money to donate, and, of course, donate food and school items.

This November the Mission Project is to collect canned foods for the community T.E.A.M. organization in Florissant. The commerical that a volunteer group of students wrote and then did the acting was great. It was taped by the students who are in the News elective class and then viewed by the student body.

Blessed November and may we be open to the direction of Jesus.
