It is hard to believe that September has flown by. Standardized testing is over. Progress reports have gone home. Before we know it, report cards will be going home. We have learned so many things this year.
The elective courses start this month. We were excited to see which courses we will participate in.
Our class has worked together to make posters on the seven sacraments. It helps to remember ideas when we put them down on posters and add pictures. We divided the sacraments into the three groups. They are the Sacraments of Initiation, Sacraments of Healing, and Sacraments of Service to Others. Cooperation and team work makes the posters possible.
In Science, we are learning about cells, chromosomes, genes, and traits. The human body is truly amazing.
In Social Studies, we finished a chapter on natural resources. We learned about reuseable, nonreuseable, and flow resources. We learned how important it is to conserve our natural resources. Each individual can make a difference in our world.
We are looking forward to the Halloween party.
Recycling aluminum cans is a great way to help our environment. It is fun to bring the cans to the room and use the special bin to crush the cans and then place them in the bin to be recycled. The students like to hear the cans being crushed, and encourage each other to bring in cans. This has become quite an attraction in 5I.
We are excited to begin the Spell-a-thon. We received the words and are in the process of getting sponsors and studying the words. We hope to make a difference in our school.
Please check the assignment notebook daily. Students should be writing all assignments in this notebook and crossing off the completed work. All test dates should be listed by the appropriate subjects. This notebook should then be used to help the students remember what work to pack up for homework and what work to complete at home.
Please let me know if I can be of assistance to you. Comunication between home and school is vital for learning.
