October News

Wow! Time flies when you are having fun. It is already mid October. The Book Fair is over, the Back to School Barbeque was a lot of fun. The ITBS testing is finished. We have planned three masses.

We are learning so much in the DARE class this year. We are learning about why people abuse drugs and alcohol. We are learning ways to say NO and ways to get away from the situation. We are learning to be positive about ourselves.

The first quarter ends October 15. We have worked hard and are looking forward to our report cards.

We have been enjoying our visits to the computer room to work on projects. One week we made our own seek and find puzzles using the social studies words. This was a lot of work. We had to type the words and then create a table and hide the words in it. Then we added more letters to hide the words. It was confusing for a while. Another week we took our spelling test in the lab. Again, we created a table for our words and then wrote some sentences. We are looking forward to more projects.

The Promethean Board has been an asset to our learning. We have completed many hands-on assignments using the board. We have done math work, science work, social studies work, and English work. This is a fun way to review our skills.

We have a new addition to our class. We have an aquarium with two fish in it. It is fun to watch the fish swim around and eat.

See you at conferences.
