Plants and More
|
| What have we been doing? Here's the latest! |
We have been out in the garden learning about plants. We looked at the parts of a real plant up close. We could see how the roots can hold a plant into the soil because they were covered with it. Later, we used a special seed and plants box donated by the Missouri Botanical Garden to teach us about seeds and plants. We planted mung beans and are graphing their growth. We found out that if you water them too much, the leaves fall off!
Prepartions were made in our garden to plant our red empire tulips for our Journey North project. The bulbs have arrived and we will need to plant them before it freezes. Tulips need to freeze before they can grow. When will spring arrive in Missouri? We don't know yet, but the tulips will let us know! We will also be doing a bulb dissection to find out what's inside a bulb.
Below we have included some pictures from our garden for you to enjoy! We really like the flowers and fruit of the Missouri passion vine. The butterflies like them too!
