October Celebrations
|
| There are many things to celebrate in October! |
We started this month of the Rosary by learning to pray the Rosary. We are going to pray for those who have no one to pray for them to "walk with the poor". We are learning the mysteries of the rosary too. We are focusing on the Luminous Mysteries.
We continued the October celebrations by celebrating our guardian angels. We even gave them a name! We remember how they are given to us for protection and help. We're glad they're with us!
October 3 we celebrated Open House. Almost everyone brought in their acrostic name prayer. We waited until all the pieces were turned in then we celebrated the fact that Jesus called us by name to be His friends. We then read our special name prayers and placed them on the board in the form of a cross. We are reminded how special we are to Jesus every time we look at the crosses.
We then celebrated the feast of St. Francis with the Blessing of the Pets. It was a hot day but all the pets kept their "cool" and were blessed. Don't the second grade pets look good?
October is fire safety month. We have been participating in fire drills this month to help us stay safe. We are staying quiet and getting out ot our building quickly. Do you have a fire safety plan for home? If you'd like to try out some activities on fire safety, go to this site: www.sparky.org Have fun!
