We have returned from a very blessed and relaxed Christmas break. With just three weeks in ordinary time before Lent, the seventh grade will have the opportunity to plan the Liturgy for Friday, January 18, 2008.
The Billboard Contest from the Office of Vocations is due today. This years theme is "Light the Way". Spread the "Good News" about Vocations! Seventh grade hopes that someone from their class may be a winner.
On Thursday, January 17, 2008, we will participate in the National Geography Bee. We wish our class winner the best of luck.
Returning from break, in English, students finished up our pronoun chapter with a test. Now, we look forward to studying our new chapter, verbs!
A reminder to parents and students, school will not meet on January 21, in honor of Martin Luther King.
Catholic School's Week, January 27-February 1, has exciting events and activities in store. See the school newsletter for specific details.
We begin to prepare for the Lenten season, starting with Ash Wednesday on February 6. Lent is a time for spiritual renewal through prayer, almsgiving, and fasting. Students will be keeping a Lenten Journal and keeping track of good deeds during this time of reflection.
In addition, let us especially remember St. Valentine on his feast day February 14.
Blessings,
Mrs. Heredia and the Seventh Grade
