Winter is here, a good time to curl up with a good book and travel to a different time and place. We used both our eyes and our ears to read the historical fiction book, The Sign of the Beaver, a thrilling story about the difficult life of an early settler in the East. In social studies we are moving from the current-day eastern region to the South to learn about its history and geography. Our math chapter is all about multiplication now, so please review the multiplication facts with your fourth-grader everyday.

We hope you enjoyed our Christmas "gift," a piece of creative writing composed for some very special people, our parents. We tried to live the true meaning of Christmas by being very generous to St. Patrick's Center, sharing our bounty with those who are less fortunate than we are. May the peace and love of this Christmas season go with you into the new year!
