What's Happening in Room Q (Sept. 8)
Weekly newsletter: Week of September 8, 2009

What’s Happening in Room Q September 8, 2009

Religion:

This week in religion, the students will be learning about God’s greatest gift to us. Don’t forget to ask your child what God’s greatest gift to us is.

Reading/Phonics:

In reading and phonics, we will continue to work with the ap, ad, and ack words. The students will also continue to practice the words: jump, not, over, too, up, down, and it. Please continue to practice these words at home.

Grammar:

This week the students will be writing about their favorite sport and their favorite thing to do at the playground. When the students are writing they will be paying special attention to make sure that the order of their words make sense.

Math:

In math this week, we will continue to work on number patterns. We will be counting by 2, 5, and 10. Last week we started playing math games and the students really liked these activities. I am sure your child would love to tell you about the math games that they are playing.

Spelling:

We will not have a spelling test this week since we did not have school on Monday. We will be reviewing old spelling words this week.

Social Studies:

In social studies, we will be learning about people everywhere. We will be talking about the roles of the people in our families and the people in our school.

Reminders:

9/11 12:00 dismissal

9/15 Bookmobile

9/18 Progress reports will be sent home

Have a great week,

Miss Franke
