Welcome to 7P!

Welcome to a new school year! I am excited to be teaching homeroom 7P this year. I hope your families have had a nice summer and are adjusting smoothly to the new school year. As we embark on a new year of learning, our focus will be on opening ourselves to changes in our bodies, our minds, our spirits, and our hearts. Through these changes we can grow closer to Christ, both individually and as a community of believers. Please pray for us as we go through our journey as 7th graders!

Here is a bit of what 7P has been up to since school started:

*In Religion, we have been learning about the different titles for Jesus, as well as how to build a friendship with Him. We have learned about how He was human like us but also His divine nature as God's only son. We answered the question "What does Jesus mean to you?" and shared our thoughts in a classroom poster displayed in the hall reminding us of what we have learned.

*In Social Studies, we are finishing up our study of early Native American life by working in teams in a variety of fun roles, from teachers to game show presenters to actors. Students will put on their presentations for the class and show us how they were able to "wear the shoes" of an ancient culture!

*In Literature, we are working through our first unit on fiction, reviewing many key elements, including character, setting, conflict, and plot. We are also beginning work on our first quarter book reports creating a mobile presentation of these elements in our chosen fiction books. Put on your creativity hats!

Dates to remember:

*September 18th - 7P prepares Mass; progress reports go home

*September 21st-24th - ITBS Testing (lots of rest and brain food!)
