Prudent November

Hello again, and welcome back to 7P. Happy November! It's hard to believe it is already time to start preparing for Thanksgiving when we just celebrated Halloween. In between, the students of 7P have been VERY busy with many school and classroom activities. We would like to share a few with you:

School mission projects - Faith in action

**We would like to offer our appreciation to the school community for their generous donations to T.E.A.M. during the month of October. As a school, we were able to collect enough food and toiletries to fill 16 boxes so thank you!!!

**Right now, we are competing in a school Penny War to see which class earns the most points, so bring in your pennies!!!

Academics - Brains in action

**In religion, we are learning about the mission of Jesus, as well as continuing work on our class project: Recipe for Being a Great Catholic. This is a class publication of "faith recipes" that we will be working on over the course of the next few weeks, with a goal of completion by Christmas. We are also focusing on our monthly goal of acting with prudence - the habit of making decisions with Christ in mind.

**We would like to congratulate 14 students in our class who achieved a 93% or higher on their Spell-A-Thon tests we took back in October. In addition, two of our best spellers represented our class at the Falcon Spell-Off on November 9th, with one becoming runner-up. Congratulations, spellers!

**In Social Studies, we are beginning work on producing group newspapers about the Boston Tea Party. We are working to research and put together articles for a December 17, 1773 edition of the "Colonial Tribune."

**In Literature, we just concluded a class favorite - "Rikki-tikki-tavi" - and we will begin work on a scene mural of the story. Don't forget about your book summaries AND book reports due December 9th!

Dates to remember:

**November 13th - noon dismissal for faculty meeting

**November 20th - 7P plans Mass; progress reports go home

**November 26th-27th - Thanksgiving break

Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
