December is here, and so is the cold weather! But that hasn't slowed down the 6th grade! We are hard at work on several different projects. Here are a few we'd like to share with you:
Oh come, oh come, Emmanuel...Advent is here, and the 6th grade has been reflecting on ways of welcoming Christ Jesus into their hearts and homes. Students are currently completing an Advent journal about what they (and their families, if done together) are doing to prepare themselves for Christmas. These journals will be shared with Fr. Joe, who came to speak with students on the liturgical seasons of the Church and suggested this way of reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas. We welcome our Lord with open arms!
After the school community received prayer cards for one of our school families, the 6th grade was inspired to share with the family their thoughts and prayers in a special way. Students took up a collection and purchased a beautiful poinsettia to give to them. Along with the flowers, students compiled a spiritual bouquet for the family. As a class, we continue to pray for and offer up our support for this special family.
The 6th grade recently held its class Geography Bee. We had an enjoyable time testing our knowledge of cities, countries, and continents of the world!
