October is here!

Hello, and welcome back to 7P! It's hard to believe it is October already...and with it a big chill in the air, letting us know fall may not stay for long. It's been a busy month so far, and students in 7P have been hard at work on several different projects and activities, and we would like to share with you some of what we have been up to:

**In Religion, for the month of October, we have been focusing on the virtue of reverence. We know how we are to behave in Church and towards God, so we have been discussing why we should be reverent. Recently in our class studies, we talked about what it would have been like to live in Jesus' time - where was He born and where did he grow up? What did most families look like during this time? What roles were there in society? Our study of Jesus' life has been enriched through our study of historical Palestine. Next up...working on quotation posters!

**In Literature, we have finished our study of fiction and are moving into nonfiction. We're starting off our unit with a look at a biographical piece on Eleanor Roosevelt. We also recently concluded our first book report mobile presentations and they were GREAT!!! We have much CREATIVITY in our room!!

**In Social Studies, we are traveling through Colonial America, stopping in each of the thirteen original colonies. Students will be working on mapping these colonies and examining the different reasons for their establishment and growth.

**In Spelling, we are preparing for another round of the Spell-A-Thon by studying hard. Spelling Bee coming soon!

Dates to remember:
