Beginning Our Lenten Journey

Brrr! It's been a cold February so far, but the 6th grade is faring well. We've been hard at work finishing up several different projects and beginning new activities as we move through the second half of winter.

On the Monday before Lent, students began leading morning prayer in our classroom. As we move through the season, the "prayer pairs" will be focusing on the daily scripture and the different forms of prayer we have utilized all year long in their prayer services. The first few have been wonderful, and students have really enjoyed the prayerful experiences provided by their classmates.

Along with their prayer services, 6th graders are also working on or beginning several different projects. Book reports for 3rd quarter are due February 22nd, while we begin our "Journey to the Promised Land" timelines in religion. Students will be starting their European tourist pamphlets in a few weeks, so they will be busy!

Dates to remember:

**February 13th - progress reports go home

**February 15th - no school due to Faculty Professional Development

**February 18th - no school for President's Day

**February 20th - camp meeting, 6:30pm, Art Room

**February 28th - field trip to see "Annie" at Incarnate Word Academy
