A Time to be Thankful...

Happy November! Welcome back to Homeroom 6P! We're excited to be sharing with you some of what we have been doing since we last "talked" with you:

**In religion, students are finishing up interviews with a "Patriarch" or "Matriarch" of their faith. This may be a grandparent, parent, or member of the parish they see as an inspiration in their faith. Students will be sharing these interviews with their classmates and how their own faith grew from this project. Along with our interviews, we are also preparing skits to perform for students in primary school about Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph, and how these patriarchs showed others how to live their faith.

**In social studies, students are finishing up their study of the United States, and will soon be moving into our study of Canada. Along with our study of our country, students will be responsible for memorizing the states and capitals, as well as identifying them on a map.

**In literature, students are working their way through a great American classic - To Kill a Mockingbird (Miss Fish's favorite book!). We traced students to make cut outs for some of the important characters in the book. On these cut outs, we'll record some of the traits for these characters and share them with Homeroom 6I. So far, we're loving the book!

**In spelling, we worked really hard on our spell-a-thon tests. Thirteen of our students earned a 93% or better on their tests. Congratulations, spellers!

Finally, as November draws to a close, we pause to reflect about all God has blessed us with. We are thankful for the opportunity to learn new things each day, and share in this journey with those we love. We hope that we remember to ALWAYS be thankful each and every day for the abundant gifts God has given to us.

Here are few dates to remember:

++Nov. 14 - noon dismissal

++Nov. 21 - progress reports go home

++Nov. 26 - noon dismissal

++Nov. 27-28 - no school - HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
